With over 35 years of medical experience spanning emergency medicine, functional medicine and pain management, Dr. Biljana Kostovic brings a unique whole-person perspective to interventional pain care. She is the founding Medical Director of Oakville Pain Clinic and a leading figure in integrative regenerative medicine in the Greater Toronto Area.
Dr. Kostovic is board-certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and holds advanced fellowships in integrative and functional medicine, anti-aging medicine, and orthopaedic regenerative medicine. Her training combines mainstream interventional pain expertise with a sophisticated understanding of the systemic factors — metabolic, hormonal, inflammatory, nutritional — that contribute to chronic pain.
This combination is what defines her clinical approach. Where many pain practices treat the pain in isolation, Dr. Kostovic's assessment looks for the upstream drivers that may be keeping a knee, tendon or back from healing. That root-cause focus is the foundation of the Oakville Pain Clinic philosophy.
Dr. Kostovic founded Oakville Pain Clinic as a specialty division within The Upper Room Clinic family — a dedicated space for interventional and regenerative pain procedures including PRP, autologous exosome therapy with the Health Canada-approved MCT System, prolotherapy, prolozone and Arthrosamid. She continues to see patients personally and supervises the clinic's regenerative medicine programme.
